Although the behavior happens in various degrees, certain materials reflect more than transmit light or scatter it more than reflect it, but the various types of light interaction are always present. Light always interacts in the presence of suitable media. Light passing through film is no exception. It goes from the air to the plastic and then to the silver halide emulsion and then to the film’s antireflective coatings and out the other side. 1.
